Android 4.3 update for Samsung Galaxy S3, S4 and Note 2

On one side, Google has lifted off the curtains from Android 4.4 i.e. KitKat version, and on the other side, we still have a lot of premium devices like Samsung Galaxy S4 and Note 2 which are still stuck on Android 4.2.2 version . It would be worth mentioning here tweet longer than 140 characters that one of the most successful gadgets of all time i.e. Samsung Galaxy S3 has not even received Android 4.2 update, and is running on Android 4.1.2. The latest news in the market says that Samsung would skip on Android 4.2 update for this device, and directly roll out an update of Android 4.3 in this link.

When can I expect updates for my S3, S4, or Note 2?

Samsung has not yet pointed to a specific date for these devices, but at the launch event of Note 3, it did add that Samsung Galaxy S3, S4, and Note 2, will all be getting updated to Android 4.3 in the next month i.e. October. The dates might not be clear, but we expect the updates to hit the market till late October.

Another thing here is that the updates would be released over the air by Samsung, but their availability in your region depends on your network provider. If you have an unlocked device, you do not need to worry much here. But if you are using a device which is under the contract of a private company, you will surely have to wait for next 2-3 months before you get your fingers onto the update, as every feature would first be thoroughly checked by the service provider first, before it is rolled for the consumers.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 would be the first device from Samsung to run on latest Android 4.3, and it has already been launched into the market last week. Samsung says that most of the features of Note 3 would soon be available for Note 2 with the upcoming update. Though there are no special differences between Android 4.2.2 and Android 4.3 apart from the fact that latter packs multiuser support and enhanced Bluetooth controls. But the thing which most of the people care about is that with the new update, the existing devices would be able to use Samsung gear, the latest smart watch from Samsung.

Samsung Galaxy S4 was launched in the month of April, and has not yet received any major update except from the fact that play edition of this device, launched about a month back from Google is already running on Android 4.3. So the news has brought happiness on the faces on users having this premium device. Company has given a clear hint for S4, but it has not yet given any statements on the brothers of this gadget like Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom, S4 Mini, and S4 Active. Various websites have claimed that Samsung has already prepared the final update for its devices, and at present, they are under testing for performance issues. The news is really a joyful one for unlocked phone owners, but has received underwhelming response from locked owners who have had a history of receiving updates about 3 to 4 months after they are available for the general public.
